Members of the ISPP will be at WESTPEX 2016. A two hour general membership meeting will be held.

The meeting is open to all those interested in joining an active society dedicated to Portuguese philately.

1998, 2011 and now again in 2016 the ISPP will be a Host/Guest Society for WESTPEX, as approved by the Board of Directors, and in conjunction with our sister society in England, the Portuguese Philatelic Society (PPS). Generally WESTPEX does not invite any society that has been featured in the prior seven years. The actual dates are April 29-May 1.

WESTPEX provides:

WESTPEX web site advertising space for the society's meeting with linkage to the society's web site as well as advertising in the prospectus and in brochures/fliers. Society web site advertising for the WESTPEX meeting with linkage to the WESTPEX web site at The society should be prepared to provide a logo and website and email contact information to the WESTPEX Webmaster.

Priority meeting space for the society wherein will be at least one seminar or presentation that is open to the public.

Space for a REQUIRED feature article on the society or specialty in the Show Program and for an optional feature article.

An initial exhibit frame allotment (this reserved allotment has a cutoff that expires 30 days prior to the deadline for general exhibitors). We have requested 50 frames. Extra frame requests will be given special consideration provided they are made by the cutoff date. Commitment and good faith effort to fill the agreed allotment of exhibit frames by the cutoff date. Signage and table to be manned by the society.

A jury that is competent in the field/specialty of the society (suggestions from the society welcome no later than the WESTPEX of the year prior to being a featured society).

The Featured Society provides a liaison to work with the WESTPEX Committee (and the liaison's contact details) to work with the WESTPEX Committee to ensure that expectations are met on both sides. Host provides a docent to guide a (one) tour of the society's exhibits.

Suggestions for specialist dealers to be invited to WESTPEX no later than October 15 of the year prior to the year of being a featured society. Dealer space at WESTPEX is limited and subject to our pre-existing waiting list.

Special awards as warranted by the number and quality of exhibits. NOTE: Special awards are not a requirement for participation, but it is strongly suggested that special awards make a special exhibition that much more special. If society awards are made available, they must be part of the WESTPEX Palmares process. No separate award ceremonies are permitted.

Clyde Homen, who is also a vice-president for WESTPEX, wrote to Ron van der Holt (ISPP Director but also Editor of the PPS Bulletin: "Ron, I will take on the task of liaison for the ISPP. I will need the name and e-mail address of the individual who will be the liaison for the PPS. I will do all the tasks necessary to make our appearance at WESTPEX a success, but I would like to have someone on from your society to keep informed about the proceedings."
